This post is under construction.

As a result, I decided to create this thread to cover info and release dates on high-profile upcoming series. If you're tracking a show or movie that is not on the list, make a post about it, and I'll add it.

Earthsea? I read those books. How far into the series does it go?

My understanding is that it's based solely on the third book. I haven't read any of the books or seen the movie yet (AFAIK, there is no fansub available).

I seem to remember some Earthsea fans complaining that the anime lacked the ethnic diversity present in the novels.

Man, Brave Story was great. It was like you couldn't go more than 30 seconds without something totally awesome happening.

Was it based on a game? It seemed to be.

[Edit]According to Wikipedia it was a novel, then a manga, then a movie, then a game.[/Edit]

Yeah, the plot reminded me more of a novel, even though they obviously put RPG paradigms in there. Brought back memories of some of those books I read in middle school, like Chronicles of Narnia.

The game is coming out on PSP, DS, and PS2, though I can't say I'm looking forward to it much. Why they wouldn't use cel shading... ... ...

Tales from Earthsea won't be released in the US until 2009 sometime because SciFi channel has the exclusive rights from that version they made a couple years ago.

Also 20th Century Boys live action movie series in 2008.

I actually looked up the ps2 game. It looked awful, and they jammed clips from the movie in strange places. Do we really need a five second FMV of Meena blowing him a kiss the first time he enters the circus tent?

Amano-sensei directing? This could be interesting.
