Tokyopop has a new interview with Satoshi Kon.
http://www.tokyopop.com/667.html

He spends time talking about the inspirations for Paprika as well as Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue, and Paranoia Agent (what no love for Millennium Actress?)

Apparently his next film will be an original science fiction story sent in the distant future that will be suitable for viewers of all ages.

Mushishi Live Action Movie [no official thread] [website]
Japan: 3/24/2007 (Theatrical) Trailer
USA:
Based on the Manga, and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira). The DVD of the film should be out by year end.

[hr]
La Rose de Versailles (Rose of Versailles) [no official thread] [wikipedia for now]
Japan:

[hr]
JoJo`s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood [no official thread] [website]
Japan: 2/27/2007 (Theatrical)

[hr]
Nasu 2 (Title might change) [no official thread] [no website yet]
Japan: Trailer
USA:
The sequel to Nasu: Summer in Andalusia set in Japan featuring the Japan Cup cycling event. The animation direction, art direction, and direction in the first were quite excellent giving me high expectations for the sequel.

Sword Of The Stranger [no official thread] [website]
Japan: 9/25/2007? (R2 DVD)
USA:
A warring states period samurai action film animated by bones that should be fairly interesting. I'm unsure if that is the actual R2 DVD release date.

[hr]
Yumedamaya Kidan [no official thread] [English Tokyo Anime Fair preview ]
Japan:
USA:
Winner of the Fifth ANIMAX Grand Prize. The contest theme was "A Story you Wish to be Animated." Also this film is being animated by Production I.G. which has me interested.

Looks like the Tekkon Blu-Ray release in Japan is delayed :/
Paprika DVD/Blu-Ray is out in Japan.
Haven't heard any news on 5cm since the first part was released. Japanese official site has not been updated since March.
Is there a proper sub of Tales of Earthsea out there? Something not done by HKers

The R2 DVD of Earthsea will be out on July 4th, and like all Ghibli DVDs it will have english subtitles and dub on it. Look for something to happen around then.

Seems like it might be time to update the OP with 2008/2009 stuff. Anyone have any tips on movies/ova to look out for?

The only thing on my radar right now is Ponyo on a Cliff and Kerberos Panzer Blitzkrieg.

Yeah, how could I forget about Rebuild of Evangelion.

Can't say I'm excited about 20cb live action, though. There's no way they could do it justice in a movie format. When something like the Death Note movie is considered to be a great movie in Japan, you know there's really little hope.

What is Ryoko's Case File?

Ryoko's Case File is based on a manga, and the original author of that manga is Yoshiki Tanaka.
